AGPR Employees strike continues in Islamabad
Islamabad (July 31, 2012) – Accountant General of Pakistan Revenues (AGPR) employees continued their strike on Tuesday in a protest to press for the acceptance of their demands. The AGPR Workers Joint Action Committee continued the protest against the non-acceptance of employees’ demands.
“We have one-point agenda of demands and that is provision of 100 percent Audit and Accounts Allowance on their basic pay,” AGPR Joint Action Committee spokesman Muhammad Naeem said while talking to APP.
Muhammad Naeem was of the view that it was the old demand of the AGPR employees to give them audit allowance that is equivalent to 100 per cent of basic pay. He said the Audit Department helps the government in huge recoveries worth billions of rupees annually. He said during the year 2010-11, the Audit Department recovered about Rs 71 billion. “We want some relief against huge recoveries in the shape of audit allowance,” he said. app
