Pakistan Railways seeks Rs 1 Billion for salaries, pension
Islamabad (October 12, 2011) – Pakistan Railways demanded Rs 1 billion from the government for payment of salaries and pension.
Government has paid only Rs 500 million till now which are not enough to meet the needs.
According to the Pak Railways, they are in need of Rs 4 billion every month to run the system but the government is paying only Rs 2 billion per month.
Railway officials also said that they have to face a loss of Rs 30 million due to stopping trade service. They also assured the government that if they were provided with proper aid for four months, they would get independent.
Railway officials also said that the PSO has provided them 0.3 million litre oil and they are in touch with the PSO for further dealing.
