Punjab: Promotions of 37 Assistant Patrolling Officers:
LAHORE: Departmental Promotion Committee (DPC) headed by IG, NH&MP Dr Wasim Kauser has promoted 37 Assistant Patrolling Officer to Patrolling Officer and 267 Junior Patrolling Officer to Assistant Patrolling Officer.
A notification for their promotion has been issued. A special ceremony to pin up their promotion badges would be held at Police Lines, headquarters Lahore and Islamabad in next week.
IG NH&MP and DIG Syed Ibne Hussain would pin their stars of promotion.
IG NH&MP has said that the NH&MP have adopted the policy of merit in connection with the promotions of police officials. He said that all possibilities of outside interference in connection with the promotions had been eliminated and now promotion of all police officials had been associated only with their performance, commitment to work, seniority and purely on merit.
Dr Wasim Kauser said that promotions were not automatic but were based on merit, good job, exceptional performance and availability of vacancies. He further said that performance management of Police officers in their operational role is conducted through their Annual Reports, which assess them on their competency, character and performance in their current ranks and posts.
He emphasized upon the officers of motorway police to do more work hard for the sustainability of soft policing culture in Pakistan.(APP)
