“Save PIA”: Workers Strike Continue: Operation Halted:
Protesting staff of the Pakistan International Airline has ceased the flights going to Frankfurt and Bangkok, at the Benazir International Airport Islamabad. Police was called at the airport maintain law and order. A Dubai-bound flight was also evicted at the Quetta airport.
PIA employees were protesting for last night at the Benazir International Airport against the sacking of pilots and sale of PIA routes to a Turkish airline. The protesters did not let any plane to take off from the airport.
The passengers coming from London, Riyadh, Abu Dhabi and Lahore were also not handed over their luggage. Exasperated passengers chanted slogans against the PIA. The airport authorities have called the police to cope with any untoward situation.
PIA employees also evicted a Dubai bound flight of the PIA in Quetta, saying that no PIA plane would take off until the strike was called off.
