Struggle of Punjab Paramedics Alliance
Multan (Saturday, April 18, 2015) – In 2010 all cadre of Punjab Health Department working in grade 1 to grade 17 formed an alliance called “Punjab paramedics alliance”. The main goal of this alliance was the new service structure and promotion channels of the employees. After the struggle of PPA the Government of Punjab issued notification of para-medical staff working in BPS-5 to BPS-17 on November 24, 2011. This milestone achieved with the keen interest of Chief Minister of Punjab Mr. Mian Muhammad Shahbaz sharif. 4-tire formula was made for the systematic promotions of Para-medical staff, first time in the history of health department of Punjab.
But the implementation of this notification still in partial. Many health units has implemented these orders, While lot of health unit are still failed to implement in full spirit. While Class four employees are still waiting for the issuance and approval of new service structure.
For complete implementation for grade 5-17 and approval of new service structure for health support staff like ward boy, aaya, Telephone Operators, Drivers. Punjab Paramedics alliance has again started protest movement. On April 13 protests were held at district and divisional levels.
On Monday, April 20, 2015 a big protest and sit-in (Dharna) is being organized in front of chief minster House Lahore. Health employees from all over Punjab province will gather in Lahore for this purpose.
In Multan Muhammad Bashir (Senior Pharmacy Technician) and President Children Hospital is coordinating to depart for Lahore in a big group.
Today the president of PPA is Malik Yousuf Awan and Malik Muhammad Munir Awan.
