Senate Committee proposes to withdraw WAPDA employees free electricity facility :

Islamabad (August 7, 2012) – Senate standing Committee for Water and Power has proposed to withdraw free electricity units facility from WAPDA workers.

There are almost 1,92,000 employees of NTDC and WAPDA are currently availing this free electricity facility throughout Pakistan. From these employees 54,000 employees are retired personals and 1,37,000 employees are in service.

    it is said that wapda employees consume electricity worth Rs. 3.00 billion annualy.It is not true.wapda employees are provided free units according to their entitlement.which is as under. bps 1 to 4 are entitled 0nly 100 units bps 5 to 10 are entitled 150 units bps 11 to 15 are 200 units bps 16 are 300 units bps 17 are 450.mainly employees fall in category bps 5 to 10 the cost of electricity per unit comes rs.7 average. that is why wapda has to bear a small amount where as the politician and other high ranked persons usually use electricity through theft. the member sitting in parliament are looting the all financials sources with both hands. there corrruption is not less than billions.
