In Lahore lower-cadre employees of the Punjab Civil Secretariat observed one hour token pen-down strike for the 20th consecutive day to press for their demands regarding review of new promotion policy of Superintendents and Private Secretaries to BS-17 here on Thursday.
The Punjab Civil Secretariat Employees Association (BS-1 to BS-16) called the strike on October 22 against the controversial promotion policy and since then the employees are observing the token pen-down strike. The association’s president, Malik Ejaz Ahmed, Secretary Azim Bari and other office-bearers visited different departments to ensure the strike. While talking to the employees of different departments, Malik Ejaz said the lower-cadre employees were united to protect their rights and because of this unity the token strike has continued for the last three weeks.
