PIA Chairman Roa Qamar Suleman resigns

Islamabad (Tuesday, 18 September 2012) – Chairman and Managing Director of Pakistan International Airlines (PIA), Air Chief Marshal (Retd), Rao Qamar Suleman Tuesday tendered his resignation on health grounds.

A Spokesman of the national flag carrier said here that Rao Qamar Suleman has resigned.

Rao Qamar Suleman was appointed as Managing Director, Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) on March 20, 2012.

Air Chief Marshal (R) Rao Qamar Suleman belongs to Okara. He got his initial training from PAF Public School, Sargodha where he belonged to the 17th entry (851 – Sabre House).

Thereafter, he joined Pakistan Air Force Academy, Risalpur in 1972 and was commissioned in Pakistan Air Force as a fighter pilot on June 01, 1975 in the 59th GD(P) Course. He commanded the PAF from March 18, 2009 till March 18, 2012.
