In Peshawar, the recently reinstated employees of the Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited (SNGPL) Sunday alleged that the administration had adopted dilly-dallying tactics in issuing confirmation letters to them and appealed to the prime minister and president to take notice of the matter.
In a joint statement, members of the Action Committee stated that the SNGPL officials even after more than a month of passage of the bill were reluctant to issue the confirmation letters. They said they would stage a sit-in in front of the head office in Lahore if the authorities failed to issue them confirmation letters.
The committee members lamented that most of the departments even issued confirmation letters to the reinstated employees even before the passage of the bill from the parliament. “However, the SNGPL high-ups are still using delaying tactics which is a disregard to the parliament and president’s orders,” they said in the statement. The employees said the SNGPL administration had approved the confirmation of the employees in its Board of Directors meeting on October 26.
