Paramedics strike continues in Punjab
Multan (June 07, 2012) – Wearing black armbands as a sign of protest against non-issuance of their service structure, the paramedical workers of different hospitals staged a protest demonstration followed by a rally here on Wednesday.
Dozens of paramedics assembled outside Nishtar Hospital and marched up Nishtar More where they staged a sit in. Holding placards and banners inscribed with their demand for service structure, they carried out nonstop sloganeering against government.
Talking to the journalists, representatives of paramedics said that the service structure was approved by the Punjab Assembly about one year ago but its notification was not issued so far. They asked the government not to force the paramedical staff of all hospitals to shut down health outlets.
They warned that the paramedical staff of hospitals from across the country would assemble in Lahore and encircle Punjab Assembly if their genuine demands were not accepted.
