New Currency Notes will be Available till 20th June Instead of June 23, 2017 – Pakistan State Bank
It is informed to the the all persons who want to get nes currency noes in the Ramazan-ul-Mubarak, that last date of receiving SMS code is June 20th 2017 (Tuesday). Earlier it was announced the 23rd June 2017 (Friday). This step has been taken after big response from the general public.
How many peoples send SMS to 8877 so far?
According to the spokesman of the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) till yesterday, June 16th total 1.6 million persons has applied for new currency notes. They send mobile message on the short code of 8877. Still this process is continue. While almost 40% of then has received fresh currency notes against the exchange value. Some branches has already been reached is end limit. There quota of giving more new currency notes has been finished. If the said momentum continue, the service will be stopped on June 20, 2017. public has liked the said service very much. Bur SMS system response is very slow.
So hurry up, if you have not applied yet. it is expected that the SMS service 8877 will be shutdown after three days. Then no transaction code will be issued to anyone.
This SMS service has been started by the Estate Bank of Pakistan Banking Services Corporation (SBP-BSC). It was launched on June 12th, 2017 (Monday). Thus six day has been gone so far after its starting date.
How many E-branches of Bank for 8877 Service?
State bank of Pakistan has designated 1020 branches of 30 banks and financial institutions. While 120 cities and Town has been granted this facility. They are situated in all over Pakistan including 4 provinces (Punjab, KPK, Balochistan & Sind), AJK and GB. All big and small cities at tehsil level head quarters are getting the fresh currency notes.
