Lahore: Services of 232 PHA workers regularised
March 2, 2011: The Parks and Horticulture Authority on Wednesday handed over documents to its 232 contract employees regarding regularisation of their services.
PHA Director-General Abdul Jabbar Shaheen was the chief guest at a ceremony at Khursheed Park, ShadmanII, for the purpose.
PHA Employees Union (CBA) President Malik Iftikhar Khokhar and secretary general Naveed Hayat Malik thanked the DG for his efforts for the welfare of employees. They said the employees’ Haj quota should be increased and services of 89-day contract, workcharge and retainer workers should be regularised.
Shaheen said on the occasion the authority had decided to regularise services of its 404 employees, including clerks, drivers, gardeners, peons, helpers and guards, who had been performing their duties on a contract.
Some 232 workers could be handed over confirmation letters as the matter pertaining to the age of remaining 172 workers was yet to be solved. A summary has also been sent to the Punjab chief minister for regularisation of the services of remaining contract employees.
Shaheen said that a summary had also been forwarded to the chief minister for regularisation of the services of employees working on 89 days contract, work-charge or a retainer basis.
