Karachi: Worker Burnt Alive in Boiler Blast

A worker was burnt alive while five others, including a boiler operator, were critically injured when one of the boilers of an oil company exploded in Bin Qasim area on Wednesday.
Idress, 32, was burnt alive, while boiler operator Qamar-uz-Zaman, Qurban, Zaman Khan, Qamar Ali and Alla Dino were seriously injured when a boiler pipe burst inside Max Coal and Oil Product Company located near Pakistan Steel Mills on Wednesday morning.
The boiler burst caused a huge fire that engulfed the workers busy doing their jobs in the vicinity.
Later, a police team led by SHO Bin Qasim Adeel Azhar reached the spot and started evacuating the injured from the factory with the help of rescue teams.
Fire tenders also rushed the spot and the blaze was put off after three hours operation. Three fire tenders took part in the operation.
