    Legal Notice
This letter is to inform the management of PIA (Pakistan International Airline) and CAA (Civil Aviation Authority) that the following employees in your organizations are closely related to each other in the Defence Department. Also that the following mentioned employees have gotten employment in PIA because of personal relationship within the defence department rather than the best qualified candidates for the job. PIA & CAA have very closely knit facilities, ties, revenues and expenses. Kindly, investigate the following hiring/recruitment/application so that a determination can be made of wrongdoing, illegal activity, criminal behavior or not following mandatory procedures. Both hirings occurred during the martial law of Ex General Zia-Ul-Haq and promotions during the martial law of Ex General Pervaiz Musharraf.
Accused employees of illegal hiring in PIA are:
    1. Captain Arshad Khan (PIA) s/o Akram Khan (CAA)
    2. Airhostess Salma Khan (PIA) d/o Akram Khan (CAA)
Kindly take immediate and swift action against any such hiring and report accordingly at your earliest.

    Thank You.

    Yours Truly,

    People’s Unity of PIA Employees
    Air League
SAEP – Society of Aircraft Engineers
PALPA – Pakistan Airline Pilots Association

    Bhoja Airline
    Shaheen Airways
    Air Blue

PIA is suffering from several serious criminal cases of illegal hiring. Many of the employees inducted in various branches during the previous martial laws have been without merit and/or relevant degrees to the profession. There are too many cases of nepotism, favoritism, “sifaraish” from the defence branches etc. If a corporation completely lacks merit how can it cope in an extremely competitive and fragmented business model. This airline (PIAC) should be downsized to a minimal number of aircraft and employees only as needed for government and/or semigovernment travel. For the rest of the passengers and airline business or pleasure travel have open skies and privatization to invite competition. This time around no more begging bowl syndrome or defaults on loans being written-off. Like any other normal corporation sell assets to survive and cut expenses. For a start, sell 50% of the aircraft and lay-off 75% of the employees this will provide a lean and mean new business & cost structure to make it a viable service entity for government travel.
