Raise Salary – APCA will Stage Protest in Islamabad on 25th May, 2011
FAISALABAD (May 12, 2011): All Pakistan Clerks Association (Apca) will stage a demonstration in Islamabad on May 25 to press for their demands, including pay-raise.
This was disclosed by Apca district president Chaudhry Akbar Ali Virk, while addressing a rally here on Wednesday. Before taking out the rally, the clerks from Education, Building, Highways and Canal departments assembled in the canal offices and paraded on city roads. They were holding placards and banners inscribed with demands. They also chanted slogans against the government. Later, they staged a sit-in in front of the press club.
Speaking on the occasion, Apca leaders announced that under directions from their central leaders, they would take out a rally on every Wednesday and continue the protest till acceptance of their demands. They said that a charter of demands had already been submitted to the government and hoped that the government would announce acceptance of these demands before the budget. They lashed out at recent statements of Fauzia Wahab and Abida Hussain, former federal minister and urged them to withdraw their statements given against the clerks association.
