Employees Protests – Salaries of CDGK (KMC) workers to be paid in couple of days
KARACHI: Commissioner Karachi Muhammad Hussain Syed has said that the salaries of all employees of the defunct city government will henceforth be paid in time.
The payment of salaries of the employees belonging to defunct City District Government Karachi (CDGK), including the staff of Karachi Municipal Corporation (KMC), all District Municipal Corporations (DMCs), District Councils (DCs) and other organisations will be started within two days while the payments of petrol and diesel for the vehicles used by the essential services will also be released since the Sindh government has given a formal approval for the same.
He announced this while addressing a high-level meeting held here at the Commissioner Office on Wednesday evening.
The meeting was attended by all five deputy commissioners besides departmental heads of KMC and DMCs.
Commissioner said fuel for officers and staff vehicles would be released in the next phase. He directed all Executive District Officers (EDOs) of the defunct city government to prepare the lists of all officers and subordinate staff working in their respective departments on immediate basis so that a record of their department of employment could be established later than Aug 13, 2001.
He also instructed for the compilation of separate lists of the employees of Karachi Development Authority, KMC, DMCs and DCs to be submitted in Commissioner Office as soon as possible.
Syed directed Executive Director Human Resources Management to prepare the list of all the officers of grade 17 to grade 20 with their present post.
He urged the officers to make the organisations functional by working speedily so that the posting of officers and supporting staff of KMC, DMCs and other organisations could be made.
