Supreme Court declares Young Doctors Association illegal
Islamabad (February 22, 2012) – Supreme Court of Pakistan has said that young doctors neither work themselves nor let anybody else else work.
While PIC drugs case hearing, the court also observed Young Doctors’ Association has no legal status.
The hearing of the case was conducted by Justice Tassaduq Hussain Jilani and Mian Saquib Nisar.
Advocate General Punjab Ashtar Ausaf Ali presented the report stating 150 people died of PIC drugs. The court, while addressing the young doctors, said it was pity neither they work themselves nor let someone else work.
The senior doctors related the figures about polio and hepatitis, which was termed terrible by the court. The hearing was adjourned to March 12 and the court also summoned four health secretaries from all the provinces, along with the federal secretary cabinet.
