Punjab young doctors call off strike
Punjab young doctors have formally called off their strike after government assurance
The Punjab Young Doctors Association has formally announced that they were calling off their strike after successful dialogue with the government. Doctors’s team will meet Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif on Thursday night. On the other hand, young doctors of the federal capital hospitals have refused to end their strike.
In a press conference in the Services Hospital Lahore, representatives of the association said that the government committee had assured that their salaries would be increases and they were calling off their strike. They said that the CM would decide the increment to be given to doctors.
Young Doctors Association Islamabad President Dr Sajid Abbasi told Dunya News that the Punjab doctors strike was different than the strike of the federal capital doctors. He said that the federal government would fulfill their demands as they were working in the federal hospitals. He said that OPDs and operation theaters of PIMS and Poly Clinic Hospital would be closed tomorrow.
