Peshawar Pharmacists stage protest for pay scales

PESHAWAR, April 26, 2011: Dozens of students of the pharmacy department of Peshawar University held a protest demonstration here on Tuesday against the difference in pay scale between doctors and pharmacists in the proposed health policy.

The students were led by office-bearers of Pakistan Pharmacists Association, Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, who were holding banners and placards inscribed with their demands.
They tried to march towards the Governor House but the police did not allow them.
Association joint secretary Mohammad Rafiq told media persons that earlier the government used to give same scale and incentives to doctors and pharmacists but now the same had been revised for doctors while the pharmacists were totally ignored.
