PMA demands Special Pay Package for Doctors: Daily Jang Lahore Dated 23-2-2011:

Lahore: 18 members Council of Pakistan Medical Association (PMA) has been constituted on Tuesday at the Jinnah Hospital Lahore for special salary package for doctors. Dr. Tariq Rehmani was elected the convener of the council.

The meeting of the PMA, Jinnah Hospital, was convened to finalise the line of action regarding special salary package for doctors, which was attended by a large number of senior and young doctors.
The meeting was presided over by Dr Taveer Anwar, President, PMA, Lahore. The meeting also concluded that if the doctors were given a special salary package by the Punjab government then they would stay here and serve the nation. The doctors demanded that a House Officer should be given Rs 35,000, PGR/MO Rs 80,000, Senior Registrar/SMO Rs 150,000, APMO/Assistant Professor Rs 200,000, Associate Professor Rs 250,000 and Professors Rs 300,000.
