Jinnah Hospital Lahore Nurses Strike

LAHORE: Nursing staff at Jinnah Hospital, Lahore has announced to call off the  protest against torture on a duty-nurse after police arrested accused in the wee hours on Monday.
Earlier, nurses staged a demonstration and went on a strike against violence on a fellow nurse from visitors of a patient.
As per details, the incident came to notice when a nurse allotted a bed to two patients, which led to arguments and a brawl between nurse and two parties one of whom were attendants of a female patient, Afshan.
Following the scuffle, nurses, in a bid to express solidarity with victimized fellow nurse, abandoned services and lodged protest with Medical Superintendent outside his office, sources said.
They demanded that the strict action against the perpetrators be taken as per law and a plan be chalked out to thwart such inhumane incidents in future.
Later, police arrested the accused men and the nurses announced end of strike.
