Karachi: Strike in Hospitals Against Doctors’s Killing:
FIR has been lodged against unknown assailants into the killing of Dr Imran Fasih, 45, had been working at the Lyari General Hospital as an ENT specialist, was shot dead near the Khalique Jumma Hall in Lyari on Thursday afternoon.
Doctors, as announced kept the out-patient departments (OPDs) of the Civil Hospital, Jinnah Postgraduate Medical College (JPMC) and Abbasi Shaheed Hospital closed in protest against the killing of a colleague in Lyari.
On Thursday afternoon, he was returning home after performing his duty when two unidentified motorcyclists opened fire upon his car (AHM-569). He was injured in the attack and shifted to hospital where he was pronounced dead.
Police said the deceased was hit by three bullets on different parts of his body. He was a resident of Hamid Square, Gulshan-i-Iqbal. He has left behind a widow and children.
Police added that Dr Fasih had neither any enmity nor any political or religious affiliation. “It seems that he was killed by some Lyari gangsters,” one policeman said.
According to the policeman, the doctor had refused to treat any gang war suspect, and he was targeted as vendetta
