ISLAMABAD Feb 18: Nurses of the Polyclinic and Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS) held a protest rally on Friday demanding regularization of their services.
About 100 nurses from both the hospitals gathered in front of the Parliament House, carrying placards inscribed with slogans in support of their demands.
The protesting nurses said the managements of both hospitals had issued a notification on January 26, terminating their contract within a month.
Terming the notification unjustified, the rally’s participants said most of the nurses had completed their two to ten years’ services in the two hospitals. They said regularisation of their services was their basic right. The Polyclinic and Pims Hospital Nursing Association, which organised the protest, asked the authorities to regularise their services on priority basis.—APP
