Doctors protests in Khuzdar and Chaman (Balochistan)

QUETTA (Monday, June 20, 2011) : Doctors continued to stage protests in Balochistan against police torture and Health Ordinance, leaving several patients dead on Monday.
In Khuzdar, the strike claimed the lives of four patients. Hapless patients are not being attended in government-run hospitals of Khuzdar.
Apart from Khuzdar, young doctors and Pakistan Medical Association (PMA) held a protest demonstration in Chaman against the Health Ordinance and police crackdown on doctors in Quetta. They chanted slogans in favour of their demands.
Owing to the strike, patients, who came from far flung areas, remained unattended in government’s hospitals.
According to reports, doctors have decided to close private clinic as well.
