Nishtar Hospital Multan, School of Nursing – Introduction
Nursing School Nishtar Hospital, Multan was established in June 1953 with the collaboration of UNICEF. Training for general nursing started in the same year. Initially there was with one post of nursing instructor and ten probation nurses. In 1955, classes for midwifery course were started. Miss Moolchand , who was tutor of Lady Atchison , was assigned duties for training of midwives.
From 1953 to 2008, approximately 2800 students have graduated from this school. Graduates from this school are working in different medical institutions within the country and abroad. At present two hundred general nursing and midwifery student nurses are under training. The school of nursing is now a well reputed institution with glorious academic record. The school is functioning to impart education in a superb manner with emphasis on character building and developing nursing leadership qualities among its students through different curricular and co-curricular activities.
Location of Nursing School
The School of Nursing is located on the ground floor in the administrative block of Nishtar Hospital. The School has three class rooms, demonstration room, computer room, library and laboratory.
