Punjab Education Foundation (PEF): Gratuity for Contract Employees
Lahore (March 11, 2011):Punjab Education Foundation (PEF) is considering provision of gratuity facility for its contract employees. According to a handout, this was announced by PEF Chairman Raja Muhammad Anwar while presiding over a departmental meeting at the PEF Boardroom on Thursday. While maintaining that the PEF had offered market-driven packages to its employees, he also announced that provision of gratuity facility for contract employees was under consideration. Raja Anwar said the PEF had planned an ambitious roadmap to offer educational facilities to 800,000 deserving students during the next five years. He said the PEF model of public private partnership would also be used to open new schools, adding that a suitable criterion should be designed by the PEF so that selection of school sites could be done purely on merit and public interest.
